Grid Forward will once again gather in June to share updates, elect board members, catch up with our fellow members and celebrate the second annual Grid Innovation Awards.

Grid Forward Annual Member meeting agenda items

While the exact timing of the meeting is being finalized, here are the activities that we will enjoy.
  • Organizational business and elections to Board of Directors
  • Overview of the past year’s activities
  • Presentation from Senate leadership staff on federal infrastructure discussions
  • A discussion panel on “10 Things Grid Operators can do for Decarbonization of Electric Systems.” Bryce Yonker will be joined by Michael Pesin, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Dept. of Energy, Jennifer Potter, Hawaii PUC Commissioner; and Bill Ritter, former Colorado Governor and Director, Center for New Energy Economy.

2021 Elections to Grid Forward Board of Directors

Current Board Members up for renewal:

New Board Members that would be incoming and up for election:

Devin Hampton is the Chief Executive Officer at UtilityAPI, a software company that is building the data network for the clean energy transition. He is also the Co-Founder of Empowering Diversity in Climate Tech (EDICT), a collective of over 60 companies committed to building stronger businesses through diversity. He is a Board Member of Clean Energy for America (formerly Clean Energy for Biden) and is an adviser to other organizations in energy and tech including the American-Made Challenges Prize.

Lynne Kiesling is an economist focusing on regulation, market design, and the economics of digitization and smart grid technologies in the electricity industry. She is a Research Professor in the School of Engineering, Design and Computing at the University of Colorado-Denver, and Co-Director of the Institute for Regulatory Law & Economics. Lynne also provides advisory and analytical services as the President of Knowledge Problem LLC, and is an Adjunct Professor in the Masters of Science in Energy and Sustainability program at Northwestern University. She has served as a member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Smart Grid Advisory Committee and is an emerita member of the GridWise Architecture Council. Her academic background includes a B.S. in Economics from Miami University (Ohio) and a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University.

2020 Annual Member Meeting Highlights

Grid Forward members came together on August 20, 2020  for our first virtual annual meeting! We caught up on organization initiatives, elected board members, and recorded a live podcast with Audrey Zibelman, CEO of Australia Energy Market Operator.

We also announced our first Grid Innovation Award winners. Congratulations to Uplight, Portland General Electric and Terry Oliver.
