Speed to Action

Doing everything on the grid faster

October 12-14, 2027

Working together to open better routes for faster grid modernization

The evolution of our electric grid is not keeping pace with the fast-changing capacity, reliability and affordability demands of our society. Let’s put grid modernization into high gear and turbocharge new technologies, processes and business models—while keeping the risks reliably between the lines.

Finding faster was to modernize the grid, safely

Planning, managing and advancing today’s T&D grid is a complex challenge, engaging the intent and skill across utilities and technology innovators who must find the right balance with policy makers, regulators and NGOs. Not easy, but critical in the face of today’s demands of escalating loads, essential reliability, economic growth and energy affordability.

GridFWD 2027 brings a focus on that challenge through many lenses:

Grid Forward will be soliciting topic ideas along these topic themes in February 2027. Subscribe to our email list to be sure to get your ideas to our Program Team.

Grid Forward brings together the people who are working on the same grid problems we are, and the conversations are practical rather than theoretical. I come away from every gathering with ideas I can take back to Trico, and with more people I can call when we run into something new.

In this industry, showing up in person is the only way to get things done, and I’ve found that the GridFWD event is the best version of that. It’s dynamic and interactive, focused not only on the challenges but on the actions. You come away with a depth of relationship and new insights to a degree that exceeds any other grid-related event.

Every year, GridFWD reminds me why community matters. This isn’t just an event—it’s a gathering of practitioners, trusted leaders, and innovators who come together for open dialogue and real impact. It’s where we share what’s working, what’s next, and how we can collectively move the grid forward.
