From last year’s concerted effort to leverage federal programs, to the current re-calibration under a new administration, we’ve all be very busy charting the optimal way forward for grid modernization. Our Annual Member Meeting is also the time we announce the winners of the 2025 Grid Innovator of the Year Awards. Each year, these awards honor individuals and organizations for their exemplary roles in helping to lead the electric utility industry forward in grid modernization across the U.S. and Canada.

Grid Forward’s Annual Member Meeting in 2024 was held virtually on June 27, 2024. At that time, federal agencies in the U.S. and Canada had released a flood of funding programs to accelerate projects for advancing energy systems and grid modernization. The Grid Forward membership and the broader community had been very busy absorbing input, building coalitions and preparing proposals, some of which led to projects accepted for further negotiations.
The 2024 Annual Meeting also celebrated the winners of the 5th annual Grid Innovation Awards: PacifiCorp, EnergyHub and Larry Bekkedahl. See the announcement here >
