Growing Need for Automated Demand Response
The NW Power and Conservation Council’s 7th Power Plan includes specific requirements for demand response as a critical resource in the Northwest. Automated demand response programs are expected to play an important role in helping Power Plan to achieve its goals. Recognizing the need for industry education, Smart Grid NW is collaborating with the OpenADR Alliance to sponsor two important workshops in the Pacific Northwest.
Don’t miss this opportunity to join key industry associations, OpenADR Alliance + Smart Grid Northwest, for a workshop lead by Jim Zuber, chief test architect from QualityLogic. Workshop attendees will learn how to leverage the Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) 2.0 smart grid standard to support popular energy programs, such as Critical Peak Pricing, Capacity Bidding, Thermostat and Direct Load Control, Fast DR Dispatch/Ancillary Services, Electric Vehicle (EV) DR and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) DR. The workshop also includes a new section, which addresses OpenADR and DER, Transactive Energy and the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Participants will leave the workshop with a solid understanding of how the OpenADR standard operates, backed with a detailed understanding of DR Program design and industry best practices contained in the OpenADR Alliance DR Program Guide.
